India has recently been hit by a massive second coronavirus wave with a severe shortage of medical oxygen. After talking to our Indian colleagues and seeing the sad images in the media, we decided to join forces with four other companies and quickly offer help.
Westfalen AG donated 400 oxygen cylinders for the cause. We prepared and packaged the 28-ton shipment according to dangerous goods regulations and organized customs clearance. The highly urgent air transport was carried out as a joint effort of Qatar Airways and cargo-partner.
Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen G.m.b.H., an Austrian construction company, initiated and coordinated the aid project in cooperation with their Indian subsidiary. They also made sure that the live-saving oxygen was safely delivered to a hospital in New Delhi.
We were glad to help this good cause with our expertise and to contribute to overcoming the health crisis in India.
