The international transport and logistics provider has launched new intermodal rail transport solutions linking Europe not only to China, but to various countries in Asia. Offering a rapid, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional air and sea freight, cargo-partner supports customers with extensive expertise in FCL and LCL rail transports across the Iron Silk Road and subsequently from and to different Asian countries.
In response to the challenges faced by the global sea freight market due to the crisis in the Red Sea, cargo-partner has witnessed a surge in demand for its reliable intermodal rail transport services. The company has successfully expanded its offerings to include seamless connections to and from several Asian countries, such as Thailand and Taiwan.
Combined road and rail solution: Thailand – China – Slovakia
In February 2024, cargo-partner managed an intermodal FCL shipment from Thailand to Slovakia for a European electrical manufacturer. The shipment was picked up from Thailand by truck and reached Chongqing in China within six days. Following export customs clearance and CFS stuffing at the bonded warehouse in Chongqing, the shipment made its way to Małaszewicze in Poland by rail. Finally, the cargo-partner team in Slovakia took over to handle delivery to the final consignee near Kosice. The total door-to-door transit time amounted to only 32 days.
Felix Miletich, Director Corporate Product Management Rail Transport at cargo-partner, anticipates a growing demand for intermodal solutions integrating cross-border trucking and rail, particularly via the Chongqing-Europe and Wuhan-Europe rail services. Miletich asserts, “Our competent Rail Transport team in China is well-prepared to handle the increasing demand for these efficient services, so we can offer our clients a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective intermodal overland transport solution.”
Optimal route planning: Thailand – China – Poland
In November 2023, cargo-partner executed another successful intermodal transport, underscoring its prowess in managing complex routes. The cargo, a compressor on a pallet weighing 915.2 kg, began its journey by LTL road transport in Bangkok, Thailand, passing through Laos and Vietnam before reaching the Pingxiang border to China. The consolidated container was then transported by rail from Chongqing to Małaszewicze, Poland. The timeline highlights the efficiency of cargo-partner’s operations, with a total transit time from door to terminal of just 30 days.
Regular intermodal LCL service: Taiwan – China – Hungary
cargo-partner further solidifies its position as an innovative global logistics provider by offering diverse intermodal routes. One notable solution involves regular sea freight LCL services from Taiwan to Shanghai, followed by consolidated rail transport from Shanghai to Budapest. Several renowned European electronics and manufacturing companies are already leveraging this streamlined intermodal solution.
cargo-partner remains dedicated to providing door-to-door services encompassing pickup, consolidation, customs clearance, and delivery to the final recipient. The company’s intermodal solutions are available for numerous origins and destinations, ensuring a reliable and comprehensive service for clients across Europe and Asia.
